    988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline-it’s not just for crises

    Call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org if you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal, substance use, and/or mental health crisis or any other kind of emotional distress. Callers are connected to trained counselors in the 988 Lifeline network of over 200 local crisis centers and receive free, confidential emotional support and crisis counseling including for veterans and callers can also be connected to resources. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week across the United States in more than 240 languages through a Tele-Interpreters service. Callers have the option of pressing 3 to be connected to a counselor specifically trained in supporting LGBTQI+ callers.
